about the role:

One part journalist, one part story-teller, and one part scientist, you enjoy answering questions that have never been asked before. You prefer deep conversations and getting to the heart of the matter. Numbers and statistics don’t scare you. In fact, you’d prefer to make decisions based on statistically sound odds. 

The Research Strategist at Rebel & Co. is responsible for creating and conducting original research across different mediums and channels to solve various business challenges. A unicorn in training, you are versed in quantitative and qualitative methodologies and comfortable around statistics. As a freelance role, you will be called upon for various projects, both client-facing and internal initiatives.

Responsibilities: 

  • Creating and conducting original, primary research

  • Working closely with stakeholders you consult on business strategies, scale, and application

  • Using research and data, you identify target markets, differentiation, key value propositions, points of friction, and defined areas of opportunity

  • Act as consultant to client to inform and guide strategic decision making

  • Conduct full business analytics, from pricing to market strategies

  • Conduct qualitative research, such as ethnography, stakeholder interviews, focus groups, and user interviews

  • Conduct quantitative research, such as market research, surveys, data analysis, and analytics

  • Conduct statistical tests, such as A/B testing, ANOVA, regressions, and correlations

  • Provide guidance on market and business strategies

  • Create all discussion guides, interview guides, workshop materials, and surveys.

  • Write and present research reports, working with creative teams for illustration and visual design of information and data

  • Project manage all research engagements, from timelines, vendors, and client relationships

Requirements: 

  • 5+ years in research, conducting and leading research initiatives

  • Experience in planning and leading market and product research initiatives

  • Comfortable working with various types of data, qualitative and quantitative

  • Comfortable with business analytics

  • Comfortable with statistical analysis

  • Experience working across industries and verticals preferred

  • Experience consulting with Executive team and operational teams alike

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Comfortable working in remote work settings or with remote team members

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, or Business required. Graduate degree preferred. 

  • Remote Location Compatible

  • Travel: Less than 50%, as required

  • This is a freelance position, based on project need. Opportunity to move to full-time role for the right candidate.
