You excel at working with disparate information to create one consistent theme. 

The Brand Strategist at Rebel & Co. works to create a brand identity, establish brand guidelines, tone and voice guidelines, and content strategies for our clients across web, digital products, and external communications such as pitch decks, briefs, and marketing. 

Working closely with research strategists, visual designers, and marketing, the brand strategist will outline a narrative that encompasses the entire brand, taking into consideration the different channels, audiences, and value propositions to be communicated across mediums. Working with our researchers, you will evaluate the brand from a communication perspective and be relied upon to identify key areas to differentiate communication, channels, and content. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Research market communication strategies, content strategies, and brand positioning to determine a strong sense of strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to improve brand positioning

  • Conduct market research to determine brand strategies that differentiate in the marketplace

  • Working closely with Research Strategist to integrate insights into a solid brand strategy and roadmap

  • Develop the brand story arch that reaches across brand touch-points and effectively communicates the brand mission

  • Work closely with Client-side marketing teams to ensure the brand messaging, persona, and communication is delivering the desired experience and outcomes

  • Develop innovative ways to communicate the brand message, encompassing new types of media, channels, and distribution

  • An effective communicator, the brand strategist will take on the task of writing copy for brand positioning decks, website content, and brand messaging to ensure consistency in tone and voice

  • Develop brand guidelines and positioning reports

  • Remote location compatible

  • Travel: as needed, less than 50% of the time

  • This is a freelance role, based on a per project status. Opportunity to move to full-time role is possible for the right candidate.

Requirements :

  • College graduate, minimum Bachelor’s degree in communication, advertising, business, or marketing 

  • Minimum 2 years experience working in brand capacity on client side or supplier (agency) side

  • Experience conducting brand audits, voice and tone guidelines, and working across medium and channels

  • Experience conducting brand research and competitive analysis

  • Experience creating brand strategies and roadmaps

  • Variety of experience across industries and verticals

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Ability to tell a captivating story across mediums

  • Copywriting experience a must

  • Basic design experience preferred
